Philos Health was honored that our most recent medical mission was made up almost entirely of volunteers from the Lick-Wilmerding High School community, including students, parents, and families. Their energy, compassion, and willingness to serve made a meaningful impact throughout the trip. We’re grateful to Lick-Wilmerding High School for highlighting the experience in their recent school newsletter, which we’re pleased to share below.

We’re committed to local decision-making, ensuring that priorities are shaped by the community itself.

We emphasize active participation, recognizing that true progress requires both volunteers and local groups working together.

We are outcome-driven, providing evidence to supporters and communities that the lives of those we serve are being measurably improved.

We commit to sustainable healthcare, continuing our work year-round, not just during volunteer visits.
OUR APPROACH
Collaboration
For more than 20 years, Philos Health’s emphasis on collaboration with local communities has been essential to providing impactful service during each medical visit.
Through strong partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and healthcare providers, we’re able to identify community needs, coordinate resources, and consistently deliver effective patient care. These relationships are the foundation of our long-term impact — ensuring that every program is shaped by the people it serves.

Ability to Follow-Up
As a result of returning to the Philippines multiple times per year, Philos Health helps ensure that patients — especially those with hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic needs — receive continuous care in partnership with local providers.
Outcome-Driven Care
Philos Health program staff collect demographic and health outcome data to better understand the specific needs of patients and develop strategies to meet them. This information helps us set new goals, track progress, and manage patient care more effectively over time.
